How much does it cost to live anywhere in the US?

I'm currently living in Europe and just finished school. Now I'm trying to find a job to get some money so I could come to the US. I want to know how much does it cost to rent an apartment and how hard it is to get a job? Nothing fancy as long as the pay is decent. The bad thing is that I don't have any profession and I'm afraid that I can't get a job even in a fast-food restaurant.
