I sustained an injury at work and ended up having to have knee surgery do to the injury . can i sue ?
I was in the middle of a shift when 2 weak shelving units came down on top of me in my over crowded, rule breaking back stock room. As i fell backward i ended up sustaining a bad sprain of the ankle and knee, later finding out i had broken cartilage behind my knee cap and had to have surgery to correct it. The doctor told me due to the strain i was putting on my knee, if i didn't have the surgery now, i would need a knee replacement by 40. Due to the workman's comp only paying me 66% of my wages, i was forced to split from the apt my bf and i shared and relocate 100 miles away to move back in with my parents to take care of me during /after recovery . Not to mention labor laws were broken every single shift i worked almost and the back room had become unsafe for anyone to be in. I was put off of work for a month, then returned to work with restrictions which were never met. When i finally told the dr. what was happening he put me on TTD . Now i don't know what to do . I don't want to go back to work because im scared to further injure myself. can i go to a vocational school while receiving disability checks ? can / should i sue ?
