What clothes do Girls like on Guys?

I am 19 in college an recently I have been thinking about what I wear and if it matters I know I dress pretty decently something I like wearing that is casual for school but still I think something that looks good on me is jeans, a button down shirt which I roll the sleeves up to my elbows an some black Lugz shoes. But than sometimes I see guys wearing these brand name clothes an they usually get the pretty girls....do brand names even matter? I really dont wanna shelve out 300$ for jeans
