Some friends and I are looking to travel to Thailand and purchase a small boat, but we don't have a clear idea?

We would like to buy something relatively small, preferably a sail boat and are looking in either Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia. I have searched all over online and even went to some online chat rooms to see if I could find a native with some info, but to no avail. We are just looking for something cheap, nothing fancy.
