What would be a good camera for me?

Hey everyone. I am looking to buy a camera as a step up from my moderate/low quality point-and-shoot Samsung. I enjoy photography as a hobby but I don't have much experience so I would need a camera that is kind of easy to figure out. I'm not looking for anything to fancy, it would be mostly used at horse shows (so it has to take good "action shots") and it would also be used for scenery. My budget is $300 and under and I am willing to buy used. So does anyone have any advice on what camera would be good for me? Thanks!

hi well me and my girlfriend work at the same place. we both work at a theme park at one of the roller coasters. at work there is this one girl who is 11 years old and comes to the park everyday by herself. she brings everyone at work cupcakes on a day to day basis and her mother has never been seen. one day she came to my job with invitations to her birthday party. i immediately knew it was a horrible idea to go and my girlfriend felt the same way. two other people when to the party came back and told my girlfriend about it and said it was really fancy and was just her family there. my girlfriend now insist that if the little girl invites us to another party we should go. i strongly disagree with this because i do not feel as if it is our place to be at her party where we know nothing about this little girl except for that she is 11 and comes to the park everyday. i just want to know if im crazy and should be more accepting to go or am i doing the logical thing by not allowing her to go.

It's hard to find older shower door hardware. Any suggestions?

My house was built about '87 and the shower doors are metal-framed. I can't find a brand on them. I'd like to buy 4 of the plastic snap in guides for the bottom track. Also, I had to take off the towel rack because I put in a shelf tower right next to the shower and there's not enough clearance to open the door all the way with the towel rack in place. I'd like to find one with a lower profile that might fit behind the shelving. But it seems almost impossible to find replacement hardware for older doors. I can't afford to get all-new doors. Any ideas where to look?

I need help organizing my closet?

Would it be safe to use those stick on tiles to cover wire mesh on the levels of my rats new cage?

I was going to buy a Critter Nation cage, but then I remembered that I have an old plastic and wire rabbit cage that's much larger than the CN (48" x 36" x 36"). The only problem with it is that it is one level, so I'd need to add a couple levels to it so thy can enjoy themselves more. All I can think of to make the levels is hardware cloth but i don't want my girls' feet to be on wire all day (though the bottom of the cage is solid). I was thinking I could just use those stick on tiles from the hardware store and cut them to fit the new shelves. Would this be safe? I don't want to use wood because wood will absorb pee and it'll begin to smell after a while, and my girls tear fleece to shreds so I can't really use that. If tile isn't safe what is? Or, what could I make the shelving out of that is solid?

Those metal spouts usually have a plastic or rubber end attached to the end of the spout for covering. Most of the time that covering isnt necessary with olive oil. Vegetable oil should be covered well. I reuse my olive oil alot and keep it in a little plastic container with a lid, simple.Cooking oil like veggie and canola usually lasts a very long time if its bottled well, dont let it air out too much.

Dude i know how you feel. There is people behind you. If you want a friend i can be a friend. For self harming i use to do it . On my arms (didn't permanently scare) but on my legs they scared on my leg. To say i have stopped would be a lie. I still do it every now and again rarely. So there is no point in telling you that you can just stop easy as that. If you want to stop you need the motivation and a good friend behind you to help for moral surport. Try a councellor there you can talk about how you feel and she/he can give you pointers and help you out with life. Nobody has to go through with what your going through.

What ceiling lighting is best for my room theme?

I have an antique-modern mix, most of the colors are modern but there are a few contemporary colors too. There is still some things I might change: if I can't get a good look making my desk into a vanity, I'm gonna give it to a family member and then buy an antique vanity and paint it a modern color. If I do that then I'm probably gonna get a little more modern shelving to go with the vanity. And then I'm waiting to get my wardrobe, which is contemporary but gonna be painted a more modern color. And that's really the only things I can think of possibly changing so yeah. Oh if this will help, I have a more medium sized bedroom and the ceiling slants, so it goes from about 9' to 8' or 7 1/2'. I have no knowledge about that , and today I received a letter saying that I am registered. I am kinda shocked , astonished and surprised at the same time. I am a 20 year old male. I NEVER registered for anything , I didn't even know you have to do it. I live in Us for like 7 years , I have SS number and green card. My question is , how can I be registered for it, when I didn't even fill any application , much less for military service. Design ideas on ways to lift things simply?

I am in the middle of a design project and my group is currently stuck on a mechanics problem. We are designing something with a shelving system. The shelves lower down when full but then need to be able to be raised back up later in order to easily unload its contents. About a year ago I liked this guy called Tyler, he liked me back too. Okay so im 15 and i didnt really think anything about it till last night, i have around 30 photos pinned up on my wall, and every night for the last five nights one photo has "fallen down" only one a night... there are photos on the wall which i am not in but all of the photos that have "fallen down" i am in, never on my own always with more than just me! but tonight i was sitting on my bed and bottle fell from a 80cm shelve (wasnt sitting on the edge) and bag of bath salts "flew around 20-30cm from a 50 cm shelve. Well ok I work at the school library and my co-worker is a girl whose one grade below me but is beautiful and has big breasts. We have our books sorted by topic, or series. Our series collections are alphabetical by author's last name. For example we have all the DK books in one place and all the Osborne books in one place. They usually have the topic written on the side. (We don't have them with the front facing out- just shelved). There are some labels on certain things. We have a HUGE collection of autism resources (we should start an autism book store, I swear) and it is labelled with dates because autism research goes gets old really fast. Certain other books have labels on the shelves too. We haven't cataloged them though. I don't see the point really because I can find things easily.

i recently found out about Selective Eating Disorder, but have been extremely picky for as long as i can remember (pretty much my whole life). i read that normally, people have just a few foods that they specifically refuse to eat/don't like, but people with SED have very few foods that they actually WILL eat. i have this problem. there are not many things i like, and things i do like i eat all the time. to give you an idea of how picky i am- i can't eat any kind of sandwich because the different textures freak me out, i don't like any seafood, i pick my foods apart a lot, probably about 90% of my diet is pasta and whatever i put on it for taste. it's really hard for me to find things i like to eat at school because i'm so picky, and always lose a couple pounds when i'm there (i'm already about 19 pounds away from being considered underweight...i'm usually about 15 pounds from underweight at school). what should i do? i don't think it's a super serious problem (ie- life-threatening), but it is really difficult to go out to eat, or to eat in a healthy way. also, i'm worried about when i have kids because i don't want them to follow my example =\

Where to find wire for a small animal cage?

I am wanting to build a chinchilla cage because store bought ones are too expensive and most are made with plastic which is toxic. I have no problem building the inside of a cage, like shelving and things. My problem is how to build the frame/cage part. I can't find any wire suitable for a full size three level cage. Does anyone have any ideas? I've heard off people using organizing cubes but the issue with that is it doesn't seem that stable for a tall cage with wood shelving. My Fancy Rat died today?

Making a spare room into a closet?

Ok here is what to do. You can cover the walls with white paneling, tack nailed down so for easy removal later on. Then go to a local resale shop. A lot of these places have cheap lighting there. One time I remodeled a small room with mirror on the walls, not only made the room optically bigger but a lot brighter! Walmart has this hanger that holes in them. You hang your clothes in the holes then you can open them up which makes them fold down giving you a lot more room in the closet. Really inexpensive. Menards also carries them or Lowes, or Home Depot. I would suggest 4 standing mirrors in each corner then a light in the middle of the room from above. Good Luck.

Why is he acting weirdly around me for a long time?

Hi, so I was really close to my best guy friend for two years and then when we both moved to upper school he has been acting differently and ignoring me a bit. We were really close and everything and we used to play fight, joke around and all that sort of stuff. I don't want to go back to work because im scared to further injure myself. can i go to a vocational school while receiving disability checks ? can / should i sue ?

What are these pads on the bottom of my furniture?

I'm putting together a 7 piece desk/hutch set. Each base unit (the heavy part with drawers and legs) has a shelving unit that sits on top of it. On the underside of the shelving units are these small dots, about the size of a dime. They have the consistensy of Mole Skin cloth and are very thin (about 1/16 inches thick). They are not felt. And I've been to every store and website i can imaging and cannot find a replacement. I'm only finding felt pads, which don't do the job because felt slides and these don't so they hold the shelving unit onto of the base better. My 5 year old daughter has had selective mutism ever since she was 2.5. Just recently,she has started saying thank you to few children and also throws ball to them in park. That, in itself, is a huge acheivement if you really know selective mutism. After the improvement in the park, i took her to library story time where she stood stonefaced with anxiety. So, i am wondering whether i should send her to 7 hour long elementary school. Please let me know whet you think. All your suggestions are helpful.

Are collectible barbies worth anything out of box?

I have various collectible barbies from 1996-2000. Originally paid between $40 to $80 for most. One of which was over $100 (symphony in chiffon). I took them out of the boxes and had them set up in a shelving unit. Some of them have suffered from being exposed to air and dust. I never planned on selling them, but now things have changed and I'm not as enthusiastic about them as I once was. I want to get rid of them, but I don't know if they would be worth anything. If there is anyone with experience in auctioning of toys and/or dolls that can give some insight, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm thinking Ebay. I was looking online, but the only ones I could find were in the boxes. By the way, for some of them I still have the boxes, but they were taken out to put on display. Thanks!

Need some oranizing ideas for my 5 year old boys room?

His room is rather small, but he has plenty of room for organization. I currently have his toys separated in different sized baskets. Every once in a while it gets outta control and we have to go through and separate but he does pretty good at putting stuff where it goes. But I feel like I could do better but don't know what or how. Well actually I know that if I got one of those awesome shelving thingies at potter barn kids, that would be fabulous. But I need something a lil more affordable at the moment. If I could some how get some height involved to organize that would be better. I usually separate his toys as: Big cars and vehicles, little cars like hot wheels, toy guns like nerf and water, etc., sports stuff like baseballs and bats and basketballs etc., books, people like action figures and those disney character people he gets from kids meals etc, a basket for his thomas train stuff, and then a sort of miscellaneous type basket. I have about nine baskets large and small. I just don't like how they're all lined on the floor. I know I need some kind of shelving just don't know where or what. Sorry this is so long!

With that GPA and SAT score you have a pretty good chance. I recommend taking the ACT, if you haven't already. As far as early action, OSU takes that into consideration which might help. But I'm pretty sure they don't put everyone on the waiting-list. It takes usually 6-8 weeks for a decision, and they will let you know if you are accepted, rejected, or even being considered for the wait list. OSU is a very difficult school to get accepted to, so try to improve all your scores, grades and write a great essay!

Will all-state band help college admissions?

I'm applying to competitive schools such as ivy leagues (specifically Dartmouth and Princeton) next year. I feel like I have a shot with my grades and test scores, but I know many people applying to such schools will have similar records. I am very involved in concert and marching band and always participate in all-county and all-district band. Last year I was able to make all-state honors band in NC, which is very competitive (top scorers from all-district band from across the state compete for one selective band). I am hoping this will help differentiate me from the crowd and possibly increase my chances of admission. Does anybody have any experience or know the impact this may make on an admissions decision?

Obviously do the best you can and work hard, but don't put too much pressure on yourself especially at this age. Even perfect students get turned down by Harvard, it wouldn't be the end of the world if you wound up somewhere else.

I had this horrible dream. I was at work (a fast food place) and in the back of the store by a sink and a shelving unit full of cleaning supplies. There was a small white kitten that was following me around. I went to find it something to eat and I found half and half in the freezer. I poured it into a rectangular container, I didn't find it odd until now that it wasn't frozen. I then walked back to the sink and the shelves. I am going to be graduating from Washington State University in one year, having finished in four years total, with a double major in Zoology and Music and so far my GPA is 3.45 but it is getting higher.
